Study with a scholarship of up to £2,000 in a safe and welcoming living environment, surrounded by a diverse community of international students.


We have three vibrant campuses around the capital city of Wales; Cardiff. Here, you can enjoy a high standard of living at a low cost. You’ll be surrounded by the best of South Wales’ cities, coast and countryside, and we’re only 2 hours from London via train. Most of our 500 + courses are recognised or accredited by professional organisations and are all taught with employability in mind. That’s why 96% of USW graduates are in Employment and/or Further Study 15 months after graduation (Graduate Outcomes Survey 2021/22).


Everything you need to know

As a self-funding international student from Oman, you are eligible for a scholarship of:

  • £1,500 per year for undergraduate students
  • £2,000 per year for postgraduate students 

This applies for courses starting in September 2024 and February 2025. You will be automatically considered for one of these awards when we receive your application.

Foundation Years are available to students who don't meet the academic requirements for entry directly onto year 1 of a Bachelor degree.

English Qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for undergraduate and postgraduate study. The University of South Wales recognises the following English Language qualifications:

  • GCSE/O Level English at grade C or above
  • IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 with at least a 5.5 in each component. 

Please note that some courses may require a higher level of English language proficiency than the University’s standard requirements. Please see the course page for further information.

Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language courses.

Academic Qualifications

Students who have completed a 2 year Diploma from recognised institution can be considered for entry onto the first year of a degree programme.

Undergraduate Advanced Entry

Applicants who have a Higher National Diploma  (HND) with a duration of 3-4 years will be considered for advanced entry onto a relevant programme depending on the modules studied.

  • Students who have completed a 3 year degree with a minimum 2nd class classification (or grade C or GPA 2.3) will be considered for entry onto a relevant postgraduate programme of study.
  • Applicants with other relevant qualifications or work experience may be considered on a case by case basis.
