"I’ve gained skills which are so important for my future career"
My name is Alina-Lorena Radutoiu and I am in my second year of university studying Business and Management. The highlight of my course has been gaining a 10-week Internship. This has given me the hands-on experience that I’ll need for my future career. The application process was very smooth, and I was successful in achieving the position of Marketing Research Officer for the Rhondda Tunnel Society.

My role as a Marketing Research Officer is to collect research and information regarding what would people like to see in the Rhondda Tunnel during their visit. My research must include all demographic areas, therefore I collected data from the meetings in which I participated with different individuals which have been supportive regarding the project, and I also conducted research in the area of Rhondda, schools and in other places of interest. I have been given help during my internship if I needed by the university and also by representants from my placement, which made me feel very supported and encouraged to succeed in achieving my goals.
During my internship I had the opportunity to meet different people, create connections, and gain skills which I consider important for my future employment status. Rhondda Tunnel Society has helped me put my skills and knowledge in practice during these 10 weeks and I consider myself lucky for having this amazing experience and if in the future I would have the opportunity to continue my work within this project or even in other projects, I would.
