Built Environment part-time fee discount 2026/2027
The University of South Wales is offering a tuition fee discount to part-time, self-funding students of £2,021 per year of study (60 credits).
The fee discount is designed to cover the gap between the standard tuition fee and the maximum loan available.
Who is eligible?
All standard, part-time, self-funding students on the following courses:
- BSc (Hons) Building Surveying
- BSc (Hons) Construction Project Management
- BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management
- BSc (Hons) Real Estate
How is the discount applied?
The discount is applied automatically for eligible students through a fee reduction.
I am a part-time student but am exempt from one or more modules due to Accredited Prior Achievement (APA) or Advanced Prior Learning (APL) – will I still be eligible to receive the discount?
Yes, you will receive the Built Environment fee discount proportionate to the amount you are being charged.
If I withdraw from/interrupt my studies, does the fee discount still apply to the tuition fees already incurred?
Yes, the discount will be applied to the tuition fees incurred to the point where you withdraw/interrupt from your studies.
What happens if I transfer course?
As long as you transfer to another eligible course, then your entitlement to the Built Environment fee discount remains the same. If you transfer to a non–eligible course the discount will be removed from your tuition fees, but you would be able to apply for a higher level of fees’ support for that course, as the fees would then be at the standard rate.
I am an existing part-time student on an eligible course; will I be entitled to apply for the discount for my current course?
No. The Built Environment fee discount only applies to part-time, self-funding students who will be starting a new, eligible, built environment course starting in September 2026.
If I repeat elements of my course, will the discount still apply?
Yes, you will continue to receive the discount for the duration of your eligible course that you started in the 2026/27 academic year.
If I have to apply for an Interruption of Studies, will the discount still apply on my return?
Yes, providing your application to interrupt your studies is approved by the University and you return within the agreed timeframe.
