Discounted chiropractic sessions as part of WIOC's 21st birthday celebarations

The Welsh Institute of Chiropractic (WIOC) at the University of South Wales (USW) is offering a special present to patients as part of its 21st birthday celebrations.

From the start of February until Easter 2021, all prices for chiropractic care at WIOC – which is close to Treforest station - are going to be the same as they were in 2000, when the clinic was established. This will mean that initial consultations will cost £15, while any treatments will be £10.

The services offered at WIOC are delivered by USW chiropractic students, under the supervision of registered chiropractors. The sessions allow the students to complete the practical parts of their degrees, which is a requirement to graduate from the chiropractic courses.

“As it’s our 21st birthday this year, we decided to do something for clinic patients that could offer some support during what has been a particularly difficult time for many,” said Professor David Byfield, who leads WIOC.

“We have made sure that the site is ready for patients, staff and students, and that all Covid rules are being followed. We want to ensure that everyone who comes to the building is protected and feels safe while they are getting either a consultation or treatment.

“We are also hoping that by providing support that can help free up health services, which are currently under increasing pressure, we can help to alleviate some of that strain, and provide support to our local community at a time when it can be most helpful.”
