University of South Wales (USW) won the ‘College or University of the Year’ award at the South Wales Schools & Education Awards 2023.
The judges consider USW to have excelled over a range of factors, such as, academic achievement, working in partnership with businesses, providing a positive learning environment and helping young people to flourish and raise their aspirations.
Collected by Lisa Taylor, Director of Education and Loren Henry, Co-Founder of Urban Circle, the award was presented at a ceremony at Chepstow Racecourse.
Dr Ben Calvert, Vice-Chancellor, said: “I was delighted to hear that we won ‘University of the Year’.
“Celebrating our ‘10 years of Impact’ has given us the chance to reflect on, and be proud of, all that we have achieved as an organisation. USW has been dedicated to creating positive change and making a real impact which is felt outside our campus buildings, across South Wales, and further afield. Thank you, this award belongs to all of our USW family.
“I would also like to offer congratulations to Libanus Primary School, one of our key educational partners, who won Primary School of the Year.”
The award was sponsored by GPT Environmental.
