Congratulations to our Future Students department who won the award for Best Use of Video at the 2025 Heist Awards.

The awards, which took place on Thursday 10 July in Leeds, celebrated excellence and innovation in education marketing, highlighting the absolute best in the sector.

The team proudly won the category for Best Use of Video for their bold ‘Get in on the action’ campaign video. This video showcased USW’s strengths in immersive, hands-on and career-focused learning, and successfully resonated with 17-18-year-olds, bringing USW’s ‘learning by doing’ proposition to life which drove enquiries and, importantly, applications.

Other awards the University was shortlisted for include two nominations in the category Best Widening Participation Initiative for the Aspire2HE project and the Crime Scene to Court Room Taster Day.

Sera Evans, Associate Director UK Student Recruitment and Admissions, said: "Winning and being shortlisted for these awards is testament to the continuous innovation, dedication and passion which is demonstrated by our Future Students teams.

“We must work hard to stand out in a fiercely competitive marketplace among our target audience and their influencers, and this only comes with grit, determination and by continually striving for originality. I’m proud of the teams’ work and this award is a deserved recognition of their efforts.”
