Providing solutions for society and the economy

Research REF 2021 Results
Cement plant with high factory structure and tower cranes at industrial production area. Manufacture and global industry concept.

Our Engineering research is organised around three distinct centres:

SERC includes a range of multi-disciplinary researchers addressing the global challenges of delivering a low-carbon economy, including through the Wales Centre of Excellence for Anaerobic Digestion and Hydrogen Centre.

The  Engineering Research Centre brings together research from the Advanced Materials Testing Centre (AMTeC), Wireless and Optoelectronic Research and Innovation Centre
(WORIC), and the Advance Control and NetTec.

CAPSE is home to Europe's largest battery research and development centre. It has developed several new methods for safety testing implementations of ISO standards as well as innovative ‘power electronics control’ strategies and algorithms.

Highlights
