Results that speak for themselves
The combination of the practical experience and technical expertise of our lecturing team and our excellence in teaching and learning make USW's ACCA course very special.
Our graduates have worked through the ACCA qualification, improved their exam results, and achieved success across a range of papers. With structured teaching and experienced support behind them, they’ve shown what’s possible with focus and consistency. We’re proud to highlight some of their experiences.
Isabelle Lowe
In 2022, Isabelle Lowe's outstanding score of 96% in the Advanced Taxation exam added another feather in USW's cap. Beginning her ACCA studies in 2019, Isabelle balanced her dedication to study with her role at Hawkins Priday. Gratefully attributing her success to USW, she noted the invaluable emphasis on exam techniques and praised the unwavering support of the course tutors.
Nicola Lloyd
Nicola's diverse academic background, with a Masters in Clinical Psychology, may not have hinted at her future in accountancy. Yet, her ACCA journey since 2015 at USW culminated in achieving the highest mark worldwide in the ACCA’s 2019 Strategic Professional Level exams, including an 86% in the Advanced Financial Management paper. With her outstanding results, she emerged on top of more than 57,000 entries worldwide.
Bryony Lewis
Bryony Lewis, 27, from Raglan, Monmouthshire, scored the joint highest mark worldwide in her ACCA September 2020 Advanced Taxation exam, recording a score of 91%. Now employed by Azets, Bryony’s journey wasn’t easy, as lockdown interfered with her studies and saw exams postponed. Despite these challenges, out of 5,200 students who sat the paper that year, Bryony came out on top.
William Douglas
William Douglas, from Cardiff, achieved the joint second-highest global mark for ACCA’s Strategic Professional Level June 2021 exams with an average of 85.75%. Beginning his USW journey in 2016, William transitioned from HND Business Studies to a BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance degree, and ultimately the MSc Professional Accounting with ACCA tuition in 2020. During this academic year, he achieved a remarkable 96% in his Advanced Financial Management paper.
