From Bangladesh to Business Management at USW
My background is in science and technology, but I started to notice a big gap between technical innovation and how businesses run. That realisation made me want to study Business Management so I could understand both sides and help connect them. I discovered USW from my home city in Bangladesh through online marketing and emails, and once I researched the modules and structure, it felt like the right fit. The way the course was designed, especially around technology and business, convinced me that it matched my goals.
During my time at USW, I had the chance to apply my learning directly to real organisations. I worked with EKF, a diagnostics company, on a business strategy project, and I completed an internship with a company where I could put my classroom knowledge into genuine business practice. Those experiences helped me understand real business problems rather than just theories.

Since graduating, with the help of USW Startup Stiwdio, I’ve co-founded a company called Calon AI Solutions, which focuses on solving real problems for businesses using AI. We now have a growing team and work on automation and custom models, including major projects for private hospitals. The leadership, strategy and ethics I studied at USW are part of my everyday life now, from handling sensitive data responsibly to managing a fast-growing team and delivering projects on time and to a high standard. I also share my knowledge through business communities and workshops, helping others understand how AI can support their organisations.
My advice for anyone thinking about studying business at USW is to make full use of the practical opportunities and treat the course as the foundation for whatever professional path you want to build.
