Why study a Professional Policing degree at USW

Part of Layla’s motivation came from the experience of being a Special Constable, which showed the practical impacts of the job even before joining full-time.

USW’s combination of academic and realistic training — including simulation suites and crime scene facilities — provided the perfect springboard to launch a professional career.

While at USW, Layla experienced both independence and structured support — much like in the force. The course progressed naturally into a full-time role, with graduation closely followed by joining South Wales Police.
