The Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Science at USW has been delivering industry-engaged education and research in STEM for over a Century. We have developed both our courses and delivery methods to suit the changing skills required by employers and ensuring our research is at the cutting edge of new technologies.

The majority of our courses are accredited by their professional bodies and we have excellent facilities for our students to receive hands on learning opportunities with industry-standard equipment.

Further Study Routes

Postgraduate education in STEM will give you the opportunity to further develop your technical, innovative and creative skills. As a postgraduate student at USW, you will transform into a graduate with knowledge that is in high demand from employers.

We also offer a number of postgraduate research programmes such as Masters by Research and PhD, allowing you to study a STEM topic that interests you.

Undertaking a work placement is a great chance for you to apply your current skills and gain new ones from a real-world setting, as well as putting you ahead of the competition when you graduate.

Graduate with a degree and 5 years of work experience.

Network75 is a combined work placement and part-time study route to a degree allowing students to Work, Earn and Learn!

Network75 Trainees are able to apply their academic knowledge to real-life work within their host company gaining the necessary skills, experience and qualifications that are highly sought after by industry.

You'll have the chance to explore our campuses at Cardiff, Newport or Pontypridd, meet academic staff and current students, learn about life at USW and student money, and take part in interactive activities related to your course.  For those who can't attend an on-campus event, we run online and on-demand events.
