OUR PRIORITIES

We are striving to embed sustainability across USW and put it at the heart of everything we do.

About Us Sustainability

USW’s 2030 Net Zero Carbon Strategy identifies three priority areas in which we will take action to address the carbon reduction required to achieve our targets.

These are electricity, gas and procurement emissions and represent those areas that require more immediate action. These areas have been identified as contributing a significant share of emissions to our overall carbon footprint and committing to reducing these impacts is critical to achieving our longer term goal.

However, to achieve net zero by 2040 and deliver our policy aspirations we will need to implement a multi-step approach across a broad range of areas and this is reflected in our roadmap. Our long-term environmental priorities are to continue to improve our environmental performance and enhance our understanding of all of our impacts and how we successfully mitigate them.
