More details about applying
You can check which courses still have vacancies after the January deadline on the UCAS website.
The final UCAS deadline for applications is 30 June 2026 and the number of course vacancies available will decrease the later you leave it, so try to apply as early as possible.
You’ll need a UCAS code for each course you apply for. You'll find these at the top of each course page. Our institution code is W01.
Make sure you’ve given yourself plenty of time to research courses, write a great personal statement and given your referees time to provide references.
If you do not apply by 30 June you can enter Clearing, which opens on 2 July.
If you've used all five choices on your application but you're not currently holding any offers, or you’ve declined the offers you received, you could still find a place at university using UCAS Extra. Log in to UCAS to find out if you're eligible for an Extra choice.
For 2026 applicants, UCAS Extra is open between Thursday 26 February and Wednesday 1 July.
If you receive an offer, you’ll need to accept or decline using the UCAS website.
If you haven’t received an offer and wish to apply for a different course, you can start a new application using UCAS Extra.
Once you have accepted an offer, you won’t be able to apply for any more courses in UCAS Extra and you’ll be sent enrolment and induction information close to the start of term.
If you’ve not yet applied to any universities through UCAS, or you didn’t use all your choices in your initial application, then you won’t be eligible to use UCAS Extra.
Instead, you can apply through the usual UCAS process or add additional choices to your application, as long as this is before 30 June.
If you applied by 30 June and you’re still waiting for a decision from any of your choices, universities have until 15 July 2026 to decide whether they’re making you an offer (including Extra choices).
If you didn't get the offers you were hoping for, you can still use Clearing to find a place.
For more information, visit our apply page.
2026 entry undergraduate applications received after 30 June are entered into Clearing.

If you’d like some more time to consider your options, or you’d rather wait until you’ve received your results, then applying to university through Clearing is an option.
You can apply for a course using Clearing if you didn’t receive any offers that you wanted to accept, you didn’t meet the conditions of your offers or if you’ve declined your firm place using the ‘decline my place’ button in your application.
Clearing opens on 2 July, and any applications made after 30 June deadline will automatically be considered through Clearing.
