ANPR Car Parking System

An Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Car Parking System is in operation in the Llantwit Road car park, Sports Park and both Glyntaff Upper and Lower car parks.

You no longer need to pull a ticket or swipe your access cards to enter or exit these car parks. The car park operates on a ticketless parking system which uses the latest ANPR technology.

As you drive into the car park, the ANPR equipment will record your registration number. On your way back to your vehicle, go to one of the pay stations and type in your registration number. You will automatically be charged on the basis of the number of hours you have been parked in the car park.

Staff and students who pay for parking through payroll or via the online shop will be able to exit with no additional charge. Alternatively, you can pay at one of the pay stations in the car park. You will be able to pay either by credit, debit or contactless card. We no longer take cash at any of our car parks. You can also skip the queues and pay via the Trust App.

At the exit, the ANPR equipment will recognise your number plate and, if you have paid, the barrier will rise automatically. If you have not paid, you will not be able to leave the car park.

Staff and student permit holders will need to make sure that their vehicle details are up to date to avoid any parking charges. Students and staff may register a maximum of two vehicles. To update your details please Email: Security Control Centre

Trust Parking App:

Effortless parking - Trust is a new App based system to pay for your parking in Llantwit Road car park and Glyntaff upper and Lower car parks. Trust is provided by Newpark Solutions for use in our car parks.

Trust is Newpark’s brand new smartphone payment App, allowing customers to pay simply and easily via their smartphone. Trust is an added benefit product which will alleviate queues at pay stations and provide a modern alternative to traditional payment methods.

  • To create a Trust account simply download the Trust Parking app from Google Play or the App Store
  • Either enter your registration number and select Pay Now or create an account - follow the prompts from Trust
  • Once payment has been made, there is a ten minute ‘grace period’ to leave the car park
