It’s the perfect way to toast your success in style!

Graduation is the highlight of the academic year. It is a chance for graduands to celebrate achievements with guests and staff of the University.  We want you to enjoy the day, so we ask you to respect others who are also graduating with you.  We know that you want everyone to enjoy the day as much as you will.

To ensure that all graduands are given the same experience recognising their achievements, we would like to ask that graduands and guests are aware of the following guidelines:

  • Graduands will return to a seat after you have crossed the stage, guided by the Marshals (please note that you may not return to your original seat therefore we would recommend that you leave personal belongings with your guests);
  • Graduands are expected to remain in your seats in the auditorium for the duration of the ceremony;
  • Guests are expected to remain in their seats in the auditorium for the duration of the ceremony, to be considerate of others around them;
  • Please respect all the graduates by remaining silent throughout the Ceremony and applauding each graduate as they walk across the stage.

There will be enhanced security checks in place for all graduation ceremonies, which will include a searching policy to protect the enjoyment of all graduands and guests attending.  We ask you to assist by taking note of the following:

  • No large bags are permitted – any bag above the size of a ladies clutch bag is likely to be searched
  • No suitcases will be permitted at the graduation venue, graduands and guests may be refused entry
  • Graduands and guests will only be admitted to ICCW Auditorium if they have their tickets in possession. (PLEASE NOTE: One ticket per guest)

Please ensure you plan your arrival to allow sufficient time for the increased security measures.

Photography is a drop-in service in Main Hall, therefore you are able to have your photograph taken before or after your Ceremony.  The queue for photography will be monitored and will close at approximately an hour before the start time of your Ceremony, this will allow all graduands to proceed to the Auditorium in time to be seated for the Ceremony.

Graduands and guests must check their tickets for details of the level and door number they must enter the auditorium.  Both Graduand and guest tickets will have a specific seat number on them, and you will be shown to your allocated seat. Please ensure that you keep your ticket, your seat number corresponds with that on your ticket.  Graduands must enter separately having submitted their ticket stubs to a Marshal.  GRADUANDS – PLEASE DO NOT MOVE TO AN ADJOINING SEAT WHICH MAY BE UNOCCUPIED.

PLEASE NOTE:  ALL GRADUANDS & GUESTS ARRIVING AFTER 1:20 PM CAN ONLY BE ADMITTED AT THE DISCRETION OF THE CHIEF MARSHAL.  PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU ARE ON TIME.
