Everything you need to know
As a self-funding international student from Bangladesh, you are eligible for a scholarship of:
- £2,500 per year for undergraduate students
- £2,500 per year for postgraduate students
This applies to courses starting in September 2024 and February 2025. You will be automatically considered for one of these awards when we receive your application.

English Qualifications
Proficiency in English is essential for Undergraduate study. The University of South Wales recognises the following English language qualifications:
- GCSE English at grade C
- IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each band)
Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language Courses to prepare you for academic studies.
Academic Qualifications
- Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) with A grade
- HSC scores with one or two B grades may be accepted on Business courses but would need to be considered on an individual basis for more specific subject areas
- Students below A grade (HSC) will be considered for a Foundation Course
- Applicants who have followed the A-Level curriculum can be considered for degree-level entry. The normal UCAS tariff will be applied.
English Qualifications
Proficiency in English is essential for Postgraduate study. The University of South Wales also recognises the following English language qualifications:
- GCSE English at grade C
- IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 with at least a 5.5 in each component. Please note that some courses may require a higher level of English language proficiency than the University’s standard requirements. Please see the course page for further information.

Academic Qualifications
- A first-class four-year undergraduate degree
- A first-class two-year degree plus a master’s degree
- MBA applicants should have one of the above qualifications plus at least two years of post-graduation work experience
- A bachelor's degree from a UK university/equivalent
