"Take the leap, USW could be your second home, as it is mine!’’

I wanted to experience studying and living in the UK. After having looked up different schools across England and Wales, USW stood out to me because of the modules my master’s program offered – the amalgamation of research and theoretical application to clinical practice greatly stood out to me.

My degree has a wonderful Psychology Plus program which allows students to receive first-hand exposure at the Behavioural Analysis Clinic which greatly piqued my interest. Adding this with the support I received from my lecturers, who are all practicing professionals in academia and clinical settings, have justified my confidence to study at the University of South Wales.

South Wales is a beautiful geographical location that makes you feel one with nature yet still connected to city life as Cardiff is only half an hour away by train. There are so many lovely nature walks to go on, small towns with their own unique offering, and a friendly atmosphere all around.

Why I chose USW

The level of support for international students at USW is phenomenal

The Pyschology Plus programme meant I could receive hands-on experience in my field

The cost of living in and studying Wales is great

The quality of education, from the facilities to the lecturers is amazing

THE BEST THING SO FAR HAS BEEN THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION I HAVE RECEIVED AT USW.

Jennifer's experience at USW

The UK has the NHS, which is one of the most successful healthcare systems in the world, and gaining exposure to their services and how psychological services work over here has convinced me that my master’s will be incredibly fruitful. USW has helped me become more confident and equipped me with the knowledge and skills to be successful in my chosen career path.

If you’re thinking of pursuing your masters in the UK, I would definitely say – go for it. Having been here for over 5 months so far, I have learned so much about myself and learned how to be more self-sufficient and independent. USW is a wonderful university with so much to offer in terms of support, quality education, and lovely people. I definitely consider being here such a great opportunity that I was glad to have pursued even in the midst of the pandemic! I probably wouldn’t have been this confident in my decision had it not been for the level of support USW has extended since the beginning of the application process. Take the leap, USW could be your second home, as it is mine!
