USW Summer School will offer a taste of university life
15 July, 2021
The inaugural University of South Wales (USW) Summer School will take place this August, with a two-day event offering school and college students a valuable insight into life at university.
The on-campus event, which will take place on Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 August 2021, will offer Year 12 students the opportunity to experience university-level study through interactive subject-specific higher education programmes and advice sessions. The summer school is free to attend, and students’ travel costs will be reimbursed by USW.
Students who attend the summer school, and then enrol on a full-time three or four year undergraduate degree course in September 2022, will be eligible to apply for the USW Summer School Bursary. The bursary is worth £500 and can be spent on technology and course-related materials.
Eligibility criteria
Places are limited and will be allocated to Year 12 school and college students from under-represented groups who meet the eligibility criteria as per the University’s 2020-21 Fee and Access Plan.
Applications close on Friday 16 July. For more information, please email [email protected].
