The University of South Wales has a strong sporting background, an excellent reputation for sport degrees, and impressive facilities for our students to study and train in. We have some of the best facilities in the UK offering clubs, courses and qualifications.

Our industry-standard facilities

Indoor FIFA standard 3G football pitch

Our full-size indoor 3G pitch is one of three in the UK run by universities and the only one in Wales. It is a FIFA 2-star pitch which is the highest grade of artificial pitch and is used as a classroom for our students to get the best learning experience.

Strength and Conditioning Suite

We are one of the best equipped strength and conditioning centres in Wales. At this state-of-the-art facility you will learn practical strength and conditioning skills, using the same tools and equipment used to train and assess professional athletes.

Outdoor pitches

The outside facilities at the Sport Park comprises 11 outdoor pitches in total. We have 5 grass football pitches, a full size, floodlit 3G pitch, a sand-dressed Astroturf hockey pitch and 3 grass rugby pitches.

Study Spaces

If you are looking for a quiet place to study, our Sports Park has designated rooms set up to accommodate you, with charging ports and comfortable seating.

Sports Hall

The large sports hall is a national standard six badminton court with a rubber sprung floor, with two large viewing platforms above. This area is used for teaching and our sports teams also practice and compete here.

THE COURSE AT USW PREPARED ME EXCELLENTLY FOR REAL-LIFE CHALLENGES. THE EMPHASIS ON PRACTICAL COACHING AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS WAS PARTICULARLY IMPACTFUL ALONG WITH OPPORTUNITIES PROVIDED TO DEVELOP THESE SKILLS.
