Research overview

I studied 34 oil-dependent countries and found that reducing emissions was difficult due to a lack of investment, technology, and financial incentives. I developed a framework emphasising the need for robust government leadership, including regulations, incentives, and resources to promote sustainable practices. This framework proved effective when applied to the Nigerian oil and gas sector. My findings offer valuable insights for policymakers, oil and gas nations, industry stakeholders, climate change enthusiasts, and academics.

My happiest moment was realising my study built upon and enhanced existing theoretical frameworks, especially after a period where I questioned my choice of topic. This confirmed the academic and practical value of the research.

Conducting this research, I gained expertise in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approaches, which helped me secure a lecturing position at USW. The experience also strengthened my resilience and determination. Now, I aim to advance my academic career, mentor postgraduate research students, publish my research, manage my investments, and live a fulfilling life.
