The Creative Industries Research Unit is one of the largest, most multidisciplinary at the University of South Wales.

The Unit has strategically exploited its base in central Cardiff, one of the UK’s largest creative hubs outside London, to establish major collaborative partnerships with the creative industries and policymakers.

Its focus on industrial collaboration in research means that it is a trusted point of leadership and expertise for both the creative industries and policymakers seeking to advance the role of creativity in Welsh economic and cultural life. The Unit has distinctive strengths in the areas of arts and health research; creative clusters and screen media research; and practice-research.
