DBS - Disclosure and Barring Service

You might need a DBS check for some placements. The type of check depends on the placement’s nature and location.

Some organisations handle and pay for DBS checks, so confirm with them first.

If you need to arrange it yourself, email [email protected] requesting a DBS check with the following information:

  • The work experience/placement setting; for example, working in a hospital
  • Your job role whilst on work experience/placement.
  • If your placement involves contact with children, vulnerable adults, or both.
  • If you are a home or international student.
  • Please note that you will be responsible for the cost.

A DBS check may take up to 6 weeks to complete. Please allow sufficient time for your checks to be processed.
