Gaining Experience

Virtual Experience Programmes (VEPs)

These programmes are designed to provide you with a remote learning experience that will allow you to complete project work/tasks via the use of online collaborative software, simulating workplace activity in various industry sectors.

Remove any geographical and physical restrictions that might otherwise prevent you from pursuing an opportunity and get work experience without leaving your laptop!

Each VEP typically includes a brief industry challenge or a set of exercises that give you an insight into a specific role within an organisation.

What to think about before you start a VEP

Consider where you will do the work.  A quiet space without interruption is the best place to concentrate.

Ensure you have read the introductory information about the programme to ensure it’s the right one for you.

Once you have chosen your programme, familiarise yourself with what is expected of you and try to complete each task methodically to get the most out of your experience.
