Pursuing a degree in Business and Management was a decision fuelled by an interest in entrepreneurship.
Throughout her studies, she has relished learning about various aspects of running a business, including finance, marketing, operations, and strategy - “One of the best aspects of studying Business and Management is how broad it is, so you get the chance to try a little bit of everything.”
“The highlight of my course has definitely been my 10-week placement at Hoop Recruitment as a Marketing Intern. I really enjoy the real-world application of the concepts we learn.” This experience ignited her passion for marketing, ultimately guiding her future career plans.
She landed a 12-month internship as a Marketing Assistant for Team Wales, where she gained valuable hands-on experience creating content and identifying marketing opportunities. Sumaya also had the opportunity to travel to Botswana as part of the CGF eqUIP internship program, where she says, “I have definitely made friends for life!”
