Choosing to study Chiropractic at USW 

As a professional dancer, I relied heavily on chiropractic care to stay at my best, so transitioning into this field felt like a natural choice for me. When I began searching for universities, USW stood out immediately. Even during the online open days—held at the time due to Covid—I could sense the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The campus environment appealed to me as well; it’s a vibrant, student-focused community with everything from a library and canteen to a pub and nightclub, making it a true home away from home. 

My experience as a student and looking to the future 

USW’s chiropractic course has exceeded all my expectations. The hands-on, student-centred approach has been phenomenal, with modules that delve into everything from anatomy to rehabilitation and pharmacy. I’ve loved exploring the advanced facilities, like the anatomage table, which allows us to visualise the human body in incredible detail. Practical sessions on state-of-the-art chiropractic benches have given me the confidence to prepare for clinical practice. As I progress into my final year, I’m particularly excited about the opportunity to work directly with patients under close mentorship in USW’s new, high-tech clinic. 

Beyond the classroom, leading the Chiropractic Society has allowed me to invite industry professionals to share insights on specialised areas like sports and paediatric chiropractic, further enriching my experience.  

My ultimate goal is to open my own clinic, but first, I’ll work for an established practice to gain invaluable experience. Thanks to USW’s exceptional teaching and facilities, I feel fully equipped to succeed in this rewarding career.
