Choosing USW to fulfil my ambition

Since the age of 11, the legal profession has fascinated me, and my lifelong goal is to work as a solicitor. I chose the LLM Laws course at USW because it would best prepare me for my SQEs or working in law firms as a paralegal.

Initially, when deciding to go to university, my ideal and top choice was USW. I trusted my instincts and chose USW, having been made to feel so welcomed and informed at previous Open Days

I BELIEVE IT HAS SET ME UP TO MULTITASK AND RELATE TO THE SITUATIONS THAT MAY UNFOLD IN THE REAL WORLD.

Real-world skills and career readiness

During my time here, we’ve had networking opportunities with law firms for work experience and support from various law teams to enhance our education. The facilities at USW, like the Moot Court, have allowed a sense of realism, in allowing us to feel what it may be like to be stood and a part of a court setting.

After graduating, my goal is to work as a paralegal to gain experience before completing my SQEs to become a solicitor. I believe my experiences at USW have set me up to multitask and relate to the situations that may unfold in the real world. My advice for future students? Do your research and don't be afraid to ask questions—the university is understanding and will support your needs.
