You will have the unique opportunity to gain clinical experience on campus by taking part in a six week placement in our Behaviour Analysis Clinic based at the Pontypridd Campus, Treforest.
Every undergraduate student is guaranteed, if they want it during their studies, a six week placement in our Behaviour Analysis Clinic. Our Autism Project offers applied behaviour analytic intervention for children five and under typically with a diagnosis of autism. The clinic is largely run by student volunteers under the supervision of a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst.

Psychology technicians are key to the successful running of any psychology department. This opportunity is tailored to give you experience of a range of tasks which are central to this role and will be very useful for those of you who want to work in research, teaching, IT or other technical professions. Working with our existing Psychology Technicians, you will be given hands on experience in a range of psychological tests (e.g., Biopac, Eye Tracker, CANTAB) and of various software packages (e.g., E-Prime, Tobii Studio). You will also learn a host of general duties which help ensure the smooth running of the labs and technical equipment.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for students (all levels) to become involved with running a magazine/journal for the psychology department here at the USW, which will be published once a term.
This is a student led project and there are many ways students can get involved. For instance, the team need; writers, editors, researchers and students who can help design the layout and manage illustrations/pictures. They also require; articles about a range of topics of interest (mental well-being, eating disorders, lifestyle, addiction, student life or something else), reviews on placements, interviews with staff/researchers and anything else of relevance.

The Immigration & International Student Advice Team (IISA) is pleased to be able to offer students the exciting opportunity to become a Global Ambassador. Global Ambassadors will work towards gaining a Key Skills and Employability Portfolio, which would identify key areas of personal, and work based skills growth that they had undertaken during the project.
Responsibilities include; • Assisting with hosting visits to the University for international visitors, contributing social media content and writing blogs about student life in USW, participating in social activities for international students and writing short reports of activities undertaken.
