Having children should not, in itself, prevent someone from succeeding in their academic studies.

The University is committed to being as flexible as it can to ensure that no student is disadvantaged due to pregnancy, maternity or paternity (including adoption), whilst ensuring academic standards are not compromised. 
 
Note: 
The Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act, 2014 defines a child as “a person who is aged under 18” and this is the definition that USW follows.
