Undergraduate Fees and Funding

Funding your Studies

Undergraduate courses have two main costs – tuition fees, which are the cost of studying a course at university and may vary from courses to course, and living costs. You can find specific information about course fees under ‘Fees and funding’ on each course page.

Your Guide to Financial Support for University Students

To help you afford university, there are a number of financial help options available from the University, Student Loan Company and other funding sources, that may provide loans (which have to be paid back) and grants, scholarships and bursaries (that don’t). If you’re considering going to university, you may have questions around money. For example, how much support is available to you to help with rent, food and essentials.

Updates to your tuition fees

In November 2025, the Welsh Government confirmed that the tuition fee cap will increase. For courses beginning on or after 1 August 2026, the maximum full-time undergraduate tuition fee that universities in Wales may charge has been proposed to increase from £9,535 to £9,790 per year. This increase in the tuition fee cap brings Wales in line with the fee cap in England.

As a result, the tuition fees for new students starting at the University of South Wales from September 2026 onwards will be set at £9,790 per annum (for eligible courses). The fee loan amount available will be increased accordingly.

While the fee cap is rising, this does not affect the way tuition fees are paid upfront: eligible students can still use student finance so fees are not required at the time of enrolment.

Students should contact their student funding provider for further information on student finance support. Please visit Student Finance Wales or Student Finance England for eligibility and applicable terms.
