What is Company Portal?

Company Portal is a Microsoft app that allows colleagues within an organisation to securely access corporate resources using external devices such as laptops and mobile phones.

Company Portal on mobile devices

As of 2022, the mobile Company Portal app is only required for Cyber Essentials staff who want to access USW data through their mobile device. Your Department or Faculty will be notified in advance when IT Services plan to roll out Company Portal to your Android or IOS mobile devices.

Company Portal on USW laptops

Company Portal is also accessible through USW laptops. In this capacity, Company Portal is used by IT Services to more efficiently manage devices and ensure that they're up to date with Windows updates and security patches.

As an employee of USW, Company Portal also allows you to securely access and install external applications. There are some applications that have a particularly large file size or are incompatible with Uniapps so if you can't access applications on Uniapps, they should be available to you through Company Portal.

Please also note that Company Portal, and the applications installed, are unique to each device so there is no link between the Company Portal account on your laptop and the Company Portal account on your mobile device.
