Transport and Travel
Whether you're commuting to class, heading home for half-term, or planning to explore some of the sights around South Wales, travel can get expensive fast. Here are some smart ways to cut down on costs and keep moving - without draining your bank account.
Cost of Living Support
All USW campuses are within walking distance of a train station, and discounts are available to students.
Transport links between campuses
The University runs a free shuttle bus service between the sites of the Pontypridd campus. Some local supermarkets also provide free buses, and bus excursions and one-off buses may be available for specific events.
Shuttle BusesRailcards
There are multiple Railcards available to students that offer discounts on travel from the 16-25 Railcard for full-time students, the 26-30 Railcard which offers 1/3 off many train tickets and the Student Railcard (Valleys and Cardiff) for full-time students over 16 or part-time under 26 that is valid on local routes.
