Following my dream career path

International Commercial Law has been my favourite subject since my bachelor's degree in Sri Lanka, and through research I discovered that the master's content at USW linked directly with my previous studies and would give me the chance to enhance my knowledge. My dream is to become a commercial lawyer, and this was the right path for me.

USW is the second largest university in Wales with an excellent global reputation, especially in legal studies. The connections to law firms and organisations provide students plenty of internship and networking opportunities. I chose USW for these reasons and the state-of-the-art facilities.

Confidence through practical experiences

At USW, I've had the opportunity to learn from legal professionals active in the field, providing great insight into our profession. Facilities like the moot court and legal advice clinic have significantly contributed to our learning, improving confidence and practical skills.

After graduation, I want to specialise in commercial law and handle cross-border transactions and international arbitration. My advice for international students considering commercial law is not to fear its broadness—USW offers a supportive, friendly environment, and the lecturers are talented and approachable.
