Why I chose USW and Law
I chose to study LLB (Hons) Law (Accelerated Route) because it’s an interesting course that interacts with many aspects of life and offers a stimulating intellectual challenge. USW was particularly appealing because it offered an accelerated course, perfect for me as I had studied previously. The location was ideal—close enough to Cardiff but also near the countryside, and it seemed like a really friendly environment.
Though I didn't attend an Open Day, I explored the law school through online videos. The impressive facilities, such as the Moot Court and the ability to partake in the Legal Advice Clinic, convinced me that USW was the right choice, and it was, with many opportunities to present mock cases in the court and conduct real case work in the clinic.

One of my proudest moments at USW was participating in a Street Law outreach programme at Cardiff Employment Tribunal. My peers and I helped people without legal representation understand the tribunal process. Just seeing the impact of the education we're having and the experience we're having on people's lives was something special.
I graduated in 2021 and currently work within NHS Wales' legal services team, applying the practical skills and knowledge I gained at USW. It was the experience that I had here that really gave me that motivation to pursue a career in law. My advice for anyone considering studying law is simple: go for it. It's a really interesting course, you learn so much, and the support at USW is incredible—there’s always someone cheering you on.
