Studying law at USW has been extremely challenging but so rewarding.
Choosing USW for a Supportive Start
I chose to study Law and Criminology because it’s a subject that constantly evolves alongside society, making it endlessly interesting. When it came to deciding on a university, USW stood out as a supportive and welcoming environment. The services and support available were incredibly appealing, and I was also able to live at home while studying, which made my transition into university life easier.
I attended multiple Open Days at USW, which helped cement it as the right choice for me. I was able to meet my future lecturers and explore the course options in depth. These visits gave me confidence in the decision I was making and made me excited to begin my studies.

Throughout my degree, USW has offered numerous opportunities to engage with the legal profession, including guest speaker events, access to the Legal Advice Clinic, and Hydra simulation sessions. These experiences have given me practical insight into the world of law. The facilities, particularly the moot court, have helped build my confidence and provided invaluable preparation for life after graduation.
One project I’m particularly proud of is my moot assignment, where I was assessed on both legal knowledge and how I approached the court. After graduating, I hope to complete the SQE and eventually work for a local firm. My advice for future students? Be confident and ready to work hard—USW provides plenty of chances to grow, but it’s up to you to make the most of them.
