Designed with external partners, including the Football Association of Wales and Swansea City Football Club, the Masters in Advanced Performance Football Coaching provides the optimal combination of professional and evidenced-based academic training for coaches, heads of coaching, performance analysts, fitness coaches and all those associated with performance player pathways.
The unique and exclusive delivery route, run in partnership with the English Football League in the Community (EFLitC), allows students to study in the workplace.
The Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching and Development provides the opportunity to gain an industry-recognised qualification, whilst studying at a Community Club Organisation and completing a comprehensive portfolio of work-based learning.
We have designed our football coaching courses with professional clubs including Swansea City AFC, Cardiff City FC, and the Football Association of Wales (FAW), to identify the skills and qualities needed to work in the professional football industry.
You will study a broad array of subjects, from coaching to business management and sports development, leading to excellent employment prospects in a range of professions. You will also study towards a FAW C Coaching Certificate, and we will support you in working towards your UEFA licenses.

USW's rugby course is supported by the WRU and professional rugby regions in Wales. It has been designed in consultation with WRU Coach Education Managers, Cardiff Rugby, Dragons, Scarlets, and Ospreys coach educators and United Kingdom Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA).
Our British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) accredited Sport and Exercise Science degree will allow you to learn about the physiological, biomechanical and psychological factors that govern elite performance, as well as the effect exercise has on human health and disease.
A Graduate Sports Therapist is a musculoskeletal clinician with expertise in the sports and exercise environment.
This course utilises our British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) approved laboratories at our Glyntaff Campus and our state-of-the-art strength and conditioning and performance analysis suites at our Sport Park.
The two-year online MSc Sports and Exercise Medicine course is aimed at professionals working in a sports clinic environment and is delivered by an innovative and experienced team who have an established international reputation in sports and exercise medicine.
This online course, run with the collaborative partner Diploma MSc is based on the specialist training curriculum developed by the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians. It therefore meets the highest standards for Sports and Exercise Medicine education and will enhance national and international employability.
You’ll have the opportunity to develop specific business specialisms, which can be applied to the sport industry, such as marketing, event planning, finance/accounting and human resource management.
You'll explore the societal, economic, and environmental impacts of sports development, gaining a thorough understanding of policy, planning, management, and the delivery of sporting opportunities and initiatives.
You’ll get practical experience of working within the sports coaching and development industry
The integration of theory and practice will enhance and develop your ability to reflect on current coaching practice, plan appropriate training programmes and critically analyse existing approaches to performance coaching.
Strength and Conditioning coaches need a unique mix of scientific knowledge, practical expertise, and coaching experience. This strength and conditioning course directly address all these requirements.
