The University of South Wales is committed to providing high quality education and support to all apprentices. Feedback regarding the University’s provision is welcomed so that the University can continuously develop and enhance the services it provides. Apprenticeship Employers are key partners in enabling the University to provide enhanced learning opportunities, and we value their contribution in ensuring exceptional learning experiences for all apprentices.
The University of South Wales is committed to upholding the safety and welfare of children and vulnerable adults. The key principles that underpin this policy stem from the Human Rights Act 1998, the Children Act 2004, the All Wales Child Protection Procedures 2008 and the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014.
The Government has published ‘PREVENT Duty Guidance: Guidance for specified authorities in England and Wales on the duty in the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 to have due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism’. Specified authorities, which includes Higer Education Institutions, are required to be legally compliant.
This Protocol applies to all staff employed directly by the University of South Wales, the University of South Wales Professional and Support Services Ltd and partner institutions with responsibility for educating our students and apprentices.
The University is committed to providing high-quality education and support to its students; however, we recognise that sometimes you may have concerns about the provision of your academic course and/or related services. Here are the steps you can take if concerns arise.
Government Funded Apprenticeships involves a three-way partnership between the University of South Wales, Employer and Apprentices, therefore a clear understanding of specific roles and responsibilities by each party is essential for the management of health and safety within the scheme. This procedure outlines the various responsibilities of each party and provides information and guidance for managing the health and safety of Apprentices in keeping with the University’s overarching Health and Safety Policy.
At USW, we are embarking upon a journey together to create equitable spaces for all where boxes do not define us. Taking inspiration from our students and our community, we are tackling stigmas and removing barriers.
We will achieve this through a shared sense of belonging and co-production as a USW family.
