Blending creativity and strategy through Marketing

A student sat at a table, they are looking up and away from the camera.

As part of Network 75, I’ve been working three days a week on placement, gaining hands-on experience and putting my learning into practice.

Why I chose USW and how the course delivered

As a Marketing student at USW, I’ve discovered the perfect blend of my love for creativity and strategic thinking. I chose the university specifically for the Network 75 scheme, which I saw as gaining 5 years of experience while I get qualified. I was certain it would set me on a promising career path.

As part of Network 75, I’ve been working three days a week on placement, gaining hands-on experience and putting my learning into practice. It’s helped me build a strong reputation with my placement company, and I hope it will lead to a Marketing Executive role after graduation. Working in the field for 5 years will look great on my CV, which will help me stand out amongst other candidates.

Growing confidence and industry-ready skills

This course has fuelled my creative side and helped me develop my strategic thinking skills—especially when it comes to content and email marketing. A lot of the learning on this course ensures that you think about the reasons behind what you’re doing, which has really improved my strategic thinking skills.

One of my favourite parts has been the digital marketing lectures. Lecturers make it really easy to understand, while being visually engaging and teaching the topic thoroughly. I’ve also found Canva really useful. I would advise that you sign up to Canva and create some graphics and assets as practice. It's a great tool for designing interesting presentations, posters, social media ads and more.
