Results Day Advice
Here's a quick breakdown of what A-Level Results Day looks like. Whether you're picking up grades, thinking about Clearing, or planning your next steps, this one-minute guide covers the essentials.
What to expect
Doing some research and planning beforehand is a great way to feel more prepared for any outcomes you face on results day, especially if you find yourself wanting to consider alternative courses through Clearing.
Consider taking some time to think about what you would do if your grades ended up being better or worse than you expected. This way, if you want to apply for a different course, you’ll already have an idea of where or what you’d like to study before the day- saving you valuable time and lots of stress.
You might want to make a list of courses and institutions that appeal to you, so that you can quickly check if they have places through Clearing on the day. Most universities will have Clearing advice available on their websites, so make sure to take a look at any information available.
If you have applied for university through UCAS, they have some great advice on how to prepare for a level results day, just in case you need to get in touch on the day.
Welcome to the #USWFamily! All those hours of hard study have paid off and the next stage of your journey can begin.
Here’s what you’ll need to do next:
- Log on to UCAS Hub, to check your confirmed offer.
- Your induction and enrolment information will be sent to you by email, so don't worry about those for now, just make sure that we’re on your safe senders list.
- If you haven't already applied for accommodation, the accommodation team will email you explaining the next steps.
- If you have any questions, no matter how big or small, get in touch with us.
Congratulations again and let the celebrations begin!
If you didn’t get the grades you were hoping for, don’t worry. We can help you with your next steps.
If you are still hoping to come to university this September, why not look at our list of courses and see if there is anything else you would like to consider studying? Keep an open mind about alternative courses, even though they may not be your first choice, you never know what you may find!
It’s important that you get in touch with our incredible admissions team as soon as you are ready to take the next steps. They can help you with advice on courses to consider, how to apply, and alleviate any other stresses you may have about Results Day and Clearing.
