British Council India Scholarships

We are delighted to announce that we will be participating in the British Council India’s 70th Anniversary scholarship programme again in September 2019! 

The scholarship will cover full tuition fees for 70 Indian women to pursue a master’s programme in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) in the UK.

The deadline for the University to nominate up to 5 women who have an excellent academic record and an offer to study at the University of South Wales is Friday 18th January 2019.

The University offers the following scholarships for self-funding international students. You will be automatically considered for one of these awards when we receive your application. For more information visit the international scholarships page.

  • Chancellor’s International Development Scholarship of £2,500 for undergraduate students
  • International Academic Scholarships of £2,000 for postgraduate students
  • International Academic Scholarships of £1,500 for MBA students

Undergraduate Entry Requirements


English Qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for Undergraduate study. The University of South Wales recognises the following English language qualifications: 

  • HSC (12th standard) English at 65% or above
  • GCSE English at grade C
  • IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each band)

Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language courses..


Academic Qualifications

  • An overall average of at least 65% in 12th Standard from both State and Central Examination Boards
  • Students with lower grades will be required to take a Foundation Course before proceeding to an undergraduate degree
  • Advanced entry to certain undergraduate degree programmes may be possible for students who hold a UK HND or India Diploma in a relevant subject


Postgraduate Entry Requirements


English Qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for Postgraduate study. The University of South Wales recognises the following English language qualifications: 

  • HSC (12th standard) English at 65% or above
  • Postgraduate Study: IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 with at least a 5.5 in each component. Please note that some courses may require a higher level of English language proficiency than the University’s standard requirements. Please see the course page for further information.
  • Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language courses


Academic Qualifications

  • A 3 year degree with an average of at least 60%
  • A 4 year degree with an overall average of at least 55%
  • Please note that work experience is not an essential requirement of our MBA
