The University is based in South Wales, UK with campuses in Cardiff, Newport and Pontypridd. 

International and EU students from more than 120 countries study at the University of South Wales each year and we have a vibrant Indian community on campus.

Postgraduate

  • MBA Global (including work placement) – freshers as well as students with work experience are welcome to apply for this program where you can gain up to 10 months of work experience in the UK, either through an external work placement or an internal consultancy-based internship at the USW Business Clinic. The course offers specialist pathways in Finance, HRM, Supply Chain Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship and is a CMI accredited program
  • MSc Cyber Security – USW has been recognised as Cyber University of the year from last 3 years running and this course is accredited by CISCO
  • MSc Forensic Audit and Accounting – the only course of its kind in the UK and has been running for the past 10 years
  • MA Design Innovation – based at our purpose-built campus in the creative centre of Cardiff
  • MA SEN/ALN autism – the course will appeal if you are working in the fields of SEN/ALN and learning diabilities, health, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists
  • MSc Public Health – designed in consultation with Public Health Wales, you will need a minimum of one year's relevant work experience
  • MSc Clinical Psychology – you will benefit from our Behaviour Analysis Clinic where you can participate in in-house supervised voluntary experience
  • MSc Aeronautical Engineering – accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Royal Aeronautical Society
  • MSc Renewable energy and sustainable Technology – accredited by the Energy Institute, this course is based in our Sustainable Environment Research Centre (SERC)
  • MSc Music Engineering and Production – accredited by Joint Audio Media Education Support (JAMES) and taught at our Cardiff Campus
  • MSc International Logistic and Supply chain Management – accredited by CIPS, the course is offered in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport
  • MA Film – as well as the standard MA Film pathway, you will be able to choose one of the following six specialist paths should you wish – Directing, Documentary, Screenwriting, Editing, Production Management or Visual Effects
  • MSc Human Resource Management – accredited by CIPD

The University offers the following scholarships for self-funding international students. You will be automatically considered for one of these awards when we receive your application. 

Courses starting in September 2023 and February 2024

  • £2,500 per year for undergraduate students
  • £2,500 for postgraduate students

Foundation Entry Requirements

Foundation Years are available to students who don't meet the academic requirements for entry directly onto year 1 of a Bachelor degree.

Undergraduate Entry Requirements

Academic Qualifications

  • An overall average of 60 - 65% or above in the 12th Standard depending on which Board you have studied
  • Advanced entry to certain undergraduate degree programmes may be possible for students who hold a UK HND or India Diploma in a relevant subject

Postgraduate Entry Requirements

Academic Qualifications

  • An overall average of 3 Year degree (B.COM, BBA, B.SC, BCA etc.) at 60% (or CGPA of 6.0/10) from a recognised Indian university for entry to a relevant postgraduate programme.
  • An overall average of 4- or 5-Year degrees (B.E, BTECH, B PHARM, B. ARCH etc.)  at 55% (or CGPA of 5.8/10) from a recognised Indian university for entry to a relevant postgraduate programme.
  • 50% (or CGPA 5.5/10) minimum from the following Indian universities: University of Mumbai, University of Delhi, University of Pune, Jadavpur University or University of Calcutta 

English Qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for study at the University. The University of South Wales recognise the following English language qualifications: 

  • HSC (12th standard) English at 65-70% or above, depending on which Board you have studied 
  • IELTS 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 in each band or equivalent (some courses require higher IELTS – please refer to relevant course page on website)
  • USW English test (known as the Password test) – this is a free English test that can be completed in India. Please email [email protected] for further details.

We also accept alternative English tests.

Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language courses
